Assist in community building and maintaining the environments.
This project is held in collaboration with [Ishimaki Kawanokami Project] commencing this
year. Situated in the northern part of Ishimaki City, Kawanokami is an area with a population
of 400 former households who resided in Ishimaki City’s coastal area before the Great East
Japan Earthquake in 2011, and the region’s local residences. In 2015 [Kawanokami Project]
began with the concept [Cultivate the town, nurture the people] to enrich the region’s
community. To create a place for the residences to interact with one another through
[Hyappyou-kan] a combination of café and library. Our goal: to endorse the region while
connecting with the next generation.
Help with maintenance for the bamboo forest around the [Hyappou-kan] community space,
as well as community building. Additionally, we will help children with their homework at
[Terako-ya] after school, and organize international exchange events.
