Všeobecný popis

Description: The community LTGJ Lebenstraumgemeinschaft was founded in 2001; today there are about 55 people of all ages living together in buildings of a historic farmstead, which belongs to a manor in a rural part of the city of Riesa in Saxony. Many of the buildings have been restored and renovated in an ecological and monument protecting way. In addition to this, a central wood heating was installed as well as a water recovering system, and ecological farming is realized in the two gardens and a field.

The community is a project, in which people of different generations have joined to explore community life as an experiment and to find out the ideal conditions for living together in sustainability and solidarity.

Type of Work: Preparing a summer festival (live music, DJs, workshops, vegan food catering, decoration and lighting, child space), working at the festival (at the bar, preparing food, supporting the organization of the festival) and clearing the space after. Please note: Thursdays to Mondays are working days; Tuesdays and Wednesdays are either free days or arrival/departure days. This gives you also the opportunity to visit cities like Dresden in the week, when the shops are opened.

Study Theme: How does a community work? Orientation in a group: how can I understand myself, how can I learn to understand the others? How can I work on myself to get in good contact with my fellow human beings? What methods do communities use to develop/support each other? How are partnerships internationally networked? Structure and organization of Jahnishausen

Sustainable cultivation methods; Permaculture; Regional foods; Possibilities of nutrition; Consequences of consumer decisions on body and planet

Accommodation: A big dormitory with mattresses under the roof of a partly renovated historical barn with sanitary facilities, hot shower in the building next door (please bring a warm sleeping bag and be prepared for fresh nights, which we sometimes get even in August!) Self-catering in a covered open-air kitchen; organic vegetarian/vegan foods; vegetables mostly from our garden

Requirements: Readiness to do 6 hours of physical work per day; desire to become involved in the community and in the group process we create together; interest to create something positive together; capability to deal with large numbers of people, as we will have many guest during the festival

Approximate Location: Jahnishausen is situated 4 km from the town Riesa in Saxony, close to the river Elbe. Berlin, the capital, is roughly 150 km away, the cities Dresden and Leipzig can be reached within an hour by public transport. Location in natural reserve and floodplain forest.

Notes: Possibilities for self-organized excursions to Dresden and Leipzig; bicycles can be borrowed; sauna, meditation room and camp-fire space of the community can be shared. The members of the camp are invited to participate in community events such as meditations, cinema evenings, singing etc.
