There are so many children, as young as two, selling
lottery tickets on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City.
Families sacrificed their children’ education just to
make ends meet. We needed to advocate for children’
quality of life and their right to an education. CVI is a
learning center for disadvantage children, homeless
children, those were born in poor family to have a
chance to learn how to read and write in Vietnamese.
KyQuang Orphanage is run by Ky Quang Pagoda,
which was built in the early part of the 20th Century in
1924. The pagoda is now a place of charity for unlucky
children and also helps treat diseases. Now, the
pagoda is taking care and bringing up more than 200
children in the South of Vietnam. The children here
have unfortunate backgrounds as many have been
abandoned by their parents and relatives most of them
have suffering from cerebral-palsy, blindness or
Down’s syndrome, Agent Orange.
We – SJ Vietnam would like to bring little good things
to these community in our society, we would like to
share with them the happiness and support their life.
