For Concordia, this will be the first participation in a workcamp in this area. Local people are delighted to see people from all over the world come to work with them and a small collective has already committed to set up these gardens to come and support you there.
Come and discover a village lost in forest.
For the first time with Concordia, the municipality of St Sulpice la Foret welcomes you to set up shared gardens. This is an opportunity to discover it as well as its inhabitants ready to work by your side to enable the realization of this great project.
You will work on setting up a wooden fence, surrounding the gardens, as well as making wooden shelters to store the various tools. You may also need to make compost bins and set up rainwater collectors.
In tents (by two), next to the sports field (bring your groundsheet and your sleeping bag). The collective daily life will be nearby. You will share the different collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be managed by the group leaders and you will participate in the grocery shopping and the preparation of meals, opting for healthy and local products as much as possible.

St Sulpice la Foret (about 1300 inhabitants) is located in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine, in Brittany. Many forests dot this town where you can take walks. You can go out to the sea or go visit the capital of Brittany, Rennes (about 210,000 inhabitants) 15km away and accessible by public transport.
You will have to bring warm clothes (trousers, sweater, socks, enclosed shoes, rainwear) and light ones (skirts or shorts, t-shirts, open shoes) because the weather can change very suddenly in Brittany. You can literally experience all four seasons in one day! Please also take with you working clothes, gloves and shoes in addition to your swimsuit. Bring a warm sleeping bag and an insulated camping mat as nights are sometimes fresh and wet.
Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.
