Weekend workcamps

Weekend volunteering camps (i.e. weekend workcamps) take place in Slovakia, during the weekends. They usually start on a Friday evening and end on a Sunday afternoon.

They are very popular among people who are unable to travel to longer-term projects, but at the same time wish to leave their stereotypical environment, do some manual work, get to know new people and mainly help those who need it while helping themselves too.

Volunteers help on public benefit projects such as reparation of historical buildings, renovation of historical monuments, work with animals, environmental protection and others.

Weekend workcamps are led by certified camp leaders. Most of the volunteers are aged above 18 years old and come either from Slovakia or from abroad.

Free food and accommodation (as well as a good feeling of helping others) are the rewards for volunteers' work.
