On the first week of April we had the Easter break. I took some days off to visit my best friend whose doing her Erasmus in Germany. It was a nice break to see a different country. Every time I come back from a trip, Bratislava gives me that ‘home’ feeling and it has only been 2 months since I am here.
The next week Madelyn brought to us Ensaimada to try from Mallorca so we all ate together in the office. Majka also gave us Lindt chocolate bunny’s and I really appreciate it because she offers us sweets a lot.

Besides that, we arranged with Mirka to go to Comenius university in order to present INEX to a class of students and talk about our experiences as volunteers. These students never tried volunteering before so I hope we inspired them a little bit to look into it.

What’s more, me and the girls have been editing and uploading videos on the Instagram account to promote the international workcamps abroad every week. I have grown super used to tangling with a lot of tasks at the same time since February, so now everything is flowing quite easier than the first month. I am not worried anymore about not having enough time to make deadlines.
I also did a brief online call with my sending organization to let them know how I have been spending my time in INEX and if everything is okay. I am very satisfied with INEX, my tasks and my life here so our call was very lighthearted.
Additionally, this month we send descriptions to schools in Bratislava about our workshops to see who would be interested. The ages of the kids we will present our workshops to will be around 12 and 13 years old. Berra also finished her workshop this month and we all participated at her trial to give her feedback.
Another nice activity was going to Lachova school in order to help them clean their backyard from old leaves. It was really satisfying in the end when we could see how clean it looked and that our work paid off.

My favorite part of this month when it comes to INEX, was being a participant in the weekend workcamp in Svaty Jur. The place was 15 minutes away from Bratislava and I loved the way the city looked and its vibe. We were supposed to help with the renovation of a historical building, which had a cafeteria inside that was so aesthetic. The work during the day was kind of tiring because it required physical effort, but we were rewarded with ice cream, cake and a walk to the vineyards in the afternoon which had a beautiful view of the whole city. I am excited to go back to Svaty Jur in May when the weather will be even warmer just because the place was so beautiful and it had a very social vibe compared to our first workcamp in Slatinka.

Throughout the whole month, all three of us were organizing the tea meeting. Our initial plan got pushed back so we had to think of a new idea for the activity this month. Berra came up with the idea to do a theater and improvisation activity. It turned out really well and lots of people got out of their comfort zone while having fun. Now for the next 2 months we have already a planned schedule so we can be more comfortable and surer. In May, we will have a presentation about Japan, and June will be about Santiago the Compostela.
At the end of the month, Mirka presented to us the history of Slovakia. Even though I had already heard most of it, Monika and Mirka gave us more details and what’s even better, at the end of the presentation, Monika brought us traditional sweets and snacks to try. My favorite was the different types of cheese and the sausage.

I also traveled to Budapest this month for a short weekend with my friends from here. I have been there 2 more times in the past and I really wanted to feel the vibe of this city again. It is one of my favorite cities and I love how alive it is at all hours. This time my goal was to find as many mini statues as possible in 2 days. I found 13 statues out of around 40. I think i will visit the city again in the future since it is so close, and discover even more.

It was definitely a more relaxing month at work compared to the previous one and the weather has also improved a lot with a lot of sunny days 😊. I am curious to see how the month of May will turn out.
