April started with a visit from my boyfriend. We spent three days together in Vienna and even if the weather wasn’t exactly on our side we had a really nice time. After that, we went back to Bratislava for the second weekend workcamp in Svätý Jur. It was as great as the first one! This time, we helped to build a stone path so people can order ice cream without getting their shoes muddy (very important, right?), cleaned the courtyard, and even did some ceramics together.

Back at INEX, we hosted a Tea Meeting about Costa Rica. I cooked empanadas for everyone, and since they disappeared in less than 15 minutes, I guess it was a real success! 😄
I also met Gabi over a chai late in the city center, she’s going to be my co-leader in August for the Kysak Castle workcamp, and I’m already super excited. I’m sure we’ll have a great time and a lot of fun.
The Easter weekend went really fast with visiting the botanical garden, Red Stone Castle, chilling in the park in Bratislava and spending some time drawing at home. A perfect mix of discovery and relaxation.

I had the chance to present my bookbinding workshop to the girls in the office. It was a bit stressful at first, but nice to try it out and share something I love. And, next time, my workshop is going to be the Tea Meeting of May!
Later in the month, I joined the weekend workcamp in Slatinka and it was amazing. Being surrounded by nature made me realize how much I missed it. We worked on building a wall from mud and stones to help return the river to its original path. We also hiked a little, had dinner around campfire, and even swam in the river! The group had great energy, and it felt really nice to be part of it. Even though we weren’t sure how we’d get back to Bratislava, all the buses were full, somehow, we made it. I’ll be leading this same workcamp in June with Peťo, and I’m really, really looking forward to it.

I can’t wait to see what May will bring.
Ahojte,
Sarah
