June started off with a one- day volunteering activity on the first week after our 2-days off from the workcamp. We went to help clean the Lachova school from the tree branches and rake the leaves. That same week one friend of mine from Greece came to visit me for a night, and I also traveled to Krakow on the weekend, so it was a really busy start. Krakow definitely became my favorite city in Poland.

Then on the second week when I came back from my trip, something exciting for me was coming up. It was the first time I was going to deliver my workshop in a classroom with high schoolers at ZŠ Lachova. The day before I organized all the materials again. I was very anxious about how it is going to go and if the kids will pay attention. It honestly exceeded my expectations. Everything went really well. All the kids seemed interested and paid attention and I also had fun while doing it. That specific classroom was really good. A great experience to start off.

Then on that Friday we had a barbecue in the office after work where me and Berra also showed some traditional dances from Turkey and Greece. Barbara of course joined us as well and as I understand she really likes dancing.

We had a few meetings with Mirka who is responsible for social media, and me and the girls brainstormed ideas about what videos to post on social media that will attract attention and we started filming some.
The tea meeting was coming up as always. This month I was the one responsible for communicating with Magdalena, a Slovak woman who traveled to Santiago de Compostela. After exchanging lots and lots of emails and after preparing all the promotions for it, Magadalena came to tell us about how it was to walk 300km along the pilgrimage route. It was very educational and interesting.

This month we also had a meeting with Barbara about the YouthPass. She explained everything to us with a big flip chart and specific questions about each competence we can gain throughout the project. It helped because now I have a clearer idea of what everything means and how to write about very specific parts of the project.
I was also in communication with my co-leaders about my workcamp in August about the next steps and trying to prepare for it.
Another exciting thing is that me and the girls started joining some free yoga classes that are happening in the city now that it’s summertime at Tyršák. I never expected to do yoga but I really liked it.

Now I wanna focus more on preparing some things for my workcamp in the next month like flipcharts and a complete schedule. But right at the end of the month something unfortunate happened to me because I got kind of sick and I was feeling unwell and couldn’t go to the office. My first visit to the Slovak emergency was very weird at first but then the doctors inside were nice and spoke very good English.
I am excited to see how the next month goes with the workcamp happening in the family center Prešporkovo which I will also attend for a few hours.
