International volunteering camps alias workcamps in Slovakia is a unique opportunity to meet people from around the world, improve your English and use your time meaningfully. It is an opportunity to spend some time in an international environment, and not to cross the borders of Slovakia.
You can apply for our workcamps through our partner organization in the country of your residence. You can find the list of our partner organizations here:
In Slovakia, we organize 1-2 weeks workcamps. Depending on the focus of voluntary help, you can help with the renovation of ruined castles (Obišovce, Turňa, Čierny hrad), with the environmental work in the village of Slatinka, or help with the activities for children, people with disabilities, or seniors. They are open to everyone who wants to help, to improve their English, to meet people from around the world and to experience a unique holiday.
Thanks to participation in workcamps in Slovakia, you will:
- gain new practical skills (you will learn how to build a wall, plant a tree, get to know traditional techniques for restoring historic buildings, learn how to mow, how to do archaeological research, etc.)
- improve your soft skills (communication, independence, responsibility, time management, self-knowledge, ability to resolve conflicts, resistance to stress and many others)
- meet people from different cultures
- improve your communication in English
- make new friends
- help where help is needed
We organize workcamps in Slovakia in the summer months (June – September), you can apply for them from March.
The history of workcamps goes back to 1920, when the first camp took place in the French village of Esnes en Argonne, destroyed during the First World War. We have been organizing workcamps in Slovakia since 1993. Look at our virtual map of the workcamps we organized since 1993.
Some workcamps are supported through the European Solidarity Corps program.
