Všeobecný popis

Introduction: The Romani are an ethnic minority, living mostly in Europe. They are known by the exonym "Gypsies" and also as Romanis, Roma or Roms. The Roma population in Poland is estimated at 35000 people. Discrimination against the Romani people has continued to the present day. In Poland they face ostracism and exclusion. More than 30% of Roma children do not attend schools. The Integration Centre for Children and Youth "Stokrotka" in Warsaw creates a safe space for 30 children from disadvantaged backgrounds, half of them Roma children. The workcamp will be a chance for them to meet people from different countries and spend their holidays in an interesting way. Our aim is to build children’s self esteem and self confidence, encourage them to speak English and show them other cultures and traditions
